My (advancing) Newbie difficulty rating: advanced to intermediate (read on)

What happened? Brain freeze? Puzzle hump? I don’t know! I bought this puzzle early on after doing 2 other eeBoo puzzles I really enjoyed. It met my first criteria - can I sort this? It looked straight forward enough, if offering some challenges: the dragon, the castle, the detailed sky. Day one: I found the edge pieces while sorting by color, built the frame, sub sorted out the objects, even the apples and the cloud pieces. Day 2: I was all ready . . . then nothing worked! I started with the upper right area, got a couple pieces attached to the frame, then nothing. Moved on to the dragon’s wing; maybe I put in a piece every ten minutes. (At that rate, if I puzzled non stop, it would take 7 days without food, sleep or the other necessary things in life.)

It felt hopeless, “what on earth is wrong with me?” This was my 28th puzzle, my confidence level had seemed to be increasing, this was truly discouraging! Day 3: More of the same, I walked away. Day 4: The fog cleared, and “there is nothing stopping me now!” The joy returned as everything fell into place. Noontime, Day 5: Complete! I was relieved and happy, I have put that experience behind me. I’m ready to look at my stash with an open mind and get on with this wonderful, calming activity I discovered about 6 months ago.

So, never doubt yourself if you find you are in the same near panic. It will pass. And, enjoy all the feelings you get for completing the picture you saw on a box and thought you wanted to put its pieces together again.

About eeBoo puzzles: They are beautiful all around. The 11” x 11” x 2” solid puzzle box includes a sealed bag of sturdy pieces, a poster, nothing else. No shrink wrap, just 2 clear seals, all materials are environmentally friendly. The poster was not vibrant, the cover pic was a perfect color match. There was little puzzle dust, just a few pieces stuck together, none were broken, torn or separating, none were missing. Tight piece fit — I hardly ever get to say that! The finish is shiny. When you run your hand over the completed construction, it feels wonderful. If I must find any fault at all, that shininess makes puzzling in daylight the best option.
