My (advancing) Newbie Difficulty Rating; easy to moderate

I want to call this illustration “organized collage”. In truth, collage is my least favorite type of puzzle, especially the ones that do not have order. The rest of it has to do with wanting to build an illustration I will find visually appealing when it is complete. For me, that eliminates chaos!

All that said, I was having a lot of fun putting this together. It felt “old school” so to speak. Yes, I sorted by color, and used the box picture to build the frame, but completing characters one by one was just too imposing. There were no divisions between them, the colors were everywhere, hmmm. I was able to build in from the frame, but also tedious. So finally I just said, find pieces that go together and put them where they will go — eventually. I was amazed at how quickly (for me) things started to fall into place. I didn’t have a lot of concentrated time to spend; it was finished over 2 days. Yes, I am still a newbie, but this little puzzle was definitely a confidence builder.

Ravensburger, on sale, clever idea, only 500 pieces - so it went in my stash. Now I’m glad it did! Adding to the enjoyment was the quality of this puzzle. The only negative was quite a bit of puzzle dust. Otherwise, pieces had a tight fit, none were damaged, none were missing. There was no poster, but the box pic color match was great. I do love the matte finish. Perhaps best of all, I looked at the completed puzzle and it made me smile. I felt . . . happy.

My grades: Quality, A; Fun Factor, A+
