Ashkeri Jigsaw Puzzles

There's a new Artist in town presenting her line of art in the form of jigsaw puzzles that are quite attractive to many Jigsaw Puzzlers. She offered up a Kickstarter program after she shared her first image of Tea With Friends to the Jigsaw Puzzle Facebook Groups. The response was so positive, she shared 3 more designs. Now a few months later (and much hard work on her end) her Kickstarter was successful and Puzzlers are sharing their stories and images of her artwork in the Groups.

"Hi there!

As a child, I fell in love with details. If I was reading an illustrated book, I would sit and stare at the art, scrutinizing each beautiful part and wondering "How did they do that?". I still treasure some of my favorite illustrated stories...anything by Beatrix Potter, or "Heidi" illustrated by Erika Weihs, and "The Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats.

Even as I admired art, I never dreamed I could ever be an artist. My aunt gave me art supplies and apparently I drew some pictures for her...but I can't even remember it! I always assumed talented artists were just born that way, and since I couldn't draw exactly like the artists I admired, I decided I hadn't been "born that way". So I spent all of my childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood simply admiring art and being in awe of the artists who created it. I remember taking an art class in high school and being very disappointed when we were studying more than creating and I quickly lost interest and got by on the bare minimum required for an acceptable grade.

When I became a mother, I fell in love with illustrations in children's books again as I read stories to my children. Every single artist brought their own beauty to each story, left their mark on those pages for eternity. I would get lost in the art and my kids would have to tug on my shirt to remind me to keep reading the story to them!

In my late 30s, I discovered the world of artists on Twitter. I enjoy playing a video game called "World of Warcraft" and I was blown away by all the stunning art created by fans of the game. I had no idea such a thing existed and I was intrigued and instantly in love. I kept thinking "Gosh, I wish I could create art like they do!"

One super cool thing about the artists in the Warcraft community is how encouraging they are. So many of them are constantly saying things like "Do you want to draw? Just do it!". After seeing that over and over, especially from some of my favorite artists like Falling Stardusk and Frenone (check them out on Twitter and Patreon!!), I decided "What do I have to lose?"

I had no idea where or how to start. I liked the idea of creating art digitally so I dug through our hall closet and found an old first generation Kindle Fire. I found a drawing app I liked and the rest is history.

I'm mainly self taught...with heavy influence from artists I support on Patreon who share tutorials and even one-on-one critique and guidance. I still have massive amounts of learning to do but I am very proud of how far I've come. I finally ditched that strange notion that I had to have been "born with it" and every day I am giving this art thing every thing I have!

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for reading my story! I hope you find something beautiful here that will make you smile."
