#9, October 10, 2017 --- on the countdown to my birthday, tee hee!
For those not in the know, Dia de Muertos is a 3 day holiday that encompasses All Hallow's Eve (Oct 31), All Saint's Day (Nov 1) and All Soul's Day (Nov 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas, honoring the deceased using calaveras (decorative or sugar skulls), aztec marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. Visitors also leave possessions of the deceased at the graves.
Some of my fave puzzles are ones that feature ethnic traditions or traditional ethnic costumes so I really love this one. If I have time, I will be doing another 1,000 piece calaveras puzzle that is pretty hilarious.
