My Confident Puzzler Difficulty Rating: Pleasantly Easy

Something to do with a 100 piece puzzle - Frame it! There is a lot to love about these mini puzzles. All that’s needed is less than an hour to take a quick puzzle break, get a few moments of the calm the puzzling process offers. The price is right - around $10. There are many themes to choose from. Frame a memory - this one was my favorite book as a young child. The box is tiny, they are great to throw in a travel bag.

It’s a cute little gift. Some mini puzzles have tiny pieces and a tiny finished size. These have a real presence when completed. I was pleasantly surprised to find 9” x 7” frames (this one is from Amazon). These little gems are just relaxing fun. Get a few, trade them in and out of the frame.

Quality: Almost perfect. The piece fit is loose, the puzzle needs to be taped on the back. I use 2” painters tape. Piece the puzzle together on stiff card. Cover with another card and flip it over. Overlap tape strips. Otherwise, the quality is fine. The little box is sturdy. The full illustration is on the box top. Color match to pieces is great. Inside is a sealed bag of pieces. No puzzle dust. The solid, matte finish pieces are a bit larger than the brand’s larger piece count puzzles. None were damaged or together uncut, none were missing.

Getting started: Find the edge pieces and sort by color. I sorted mostly white and mostly black for this one.

Construction: I built the frame and worked from the bottom up. It was a peaceful, no stress, 50 minutes or so of calm enjoyment.

Final thoughts: I know challenge is a part of rewarding puzzling, but the puzzling process is a reward on its own. I think these simple pleasure mini puzzles have a place in a puzzle collection.

My grades: Quality A-, Fun Factor A+
