For our third puzzle, Mom chose this fun one! Now, I have to tell you that Mom and I are both avid readers, so this was a journey through some classics and some newer friends. Mom nourished my love of reading long before my fascination with jigsaw puzzles. She bought me the Little House on the Prairie series when I was young, giving me one book for Christmas, another for my birthday a mere 3 days later, the third for Valentines Day, keeping it up until I had them all. My sister got the Nancy Drew series, but I cherished my first hardcover books that were just mine! Years and years later, Mom has quite an impressive library, while mine is more modest, yet well-read. We both do most of our reading on our Kindles now, but I can still remember the feel and smell of those first beloved books that are safely stored in my attic.

Mom was instantly drawn to the red plaid pieces, which turned out to be the slacks for the woman on the far left. Based on her decision, I started with the striped shirt of the guy on the far right, thereby determining our puzzle assignments, lol. The shelves were easily split right down the middle, with Mom doing the left half and me doing the right. After Mom “accidentally” assembled the lamp shade that CLEARLY belonged in the right sector, I took preemptive measures and sorted out the remaining pieces into left and right piles. No sense in tempting her too much with my fun little details!

This was the first time that I was assembling a puzzle from this company, so I didn’t have any preconceived ideas about the quality. I was pleasantly surprised by this puzzle. The box was satisfyingly sturdy, and to offset the placement of a sizable sticker on the bottom center of the image, they included a nice little poster that measured 9 3/8” x 6 3/4”. The pieces are grid cut with a nice matte finish. The artwork was crisp and clear and a true representation of the box image. The pieces felt a bit different to handle at first, giving me the thought that someone could possibly get a paper cut from the sharp back edges, but that didn’t happen to either one of us. They were nice and sturdy with clean cuts. I had no cut issues or missing pieces, although one or two of them had the smallest bend to a corner. I didn’t notice a single speck of puzzle dust!

One interesting thing that surprised me was the presence of arrows printed on the backside. Mom and I are both experienced puzzlers, so we completely ignored that helpful device, but I did experiment with them when I was assembling the potted plant in the upper right corner. Turns out that the arrows point down. I had lined up some pieces with the arrows pointing up, but quickly realized my mistake. When I finished my half, I was able to pick up my section with both hands to attach it to Mom’s section. The fit was very impressive! Mom commented that the design was easy to work with as there were no big expanses of one color or pattern, and the pieces only fit correctly in one spot. Overall, my impression of this puzzle brand was very favorable! I know that I have other puzzles from this company, and now I will look forward to doing them. I will definitely be buying more from their puzzle catalog. I would highly recommend this puzzle brand and this puzzle in particular to any puzzler.
