My Confident Puzzler Difficulty Rating: Easy

Are you surprised by my easy rating? I certainly was! When I saw this puzzle I had to have it. It was just so different from other round puzzle designs. I really thought it would present some challenge which I definitely wanted to take on. But, I’m not really disappointed. This puzzle was, in every way, enjoyable, relaxing and fun!

Quality: Excellent! Pick up off the table tight piece fit, no false fits, just a little bit of puzzle dust, a sturdy square box, full image on the box top, a huge poster, both good color match with the solid, low sheen pieces, no pieces were damaged, together uncut, or missing - it’s everything that’s looked for in a puzzle!

Getting started: Find the edge pieces and sort by color. I sorted the 11 colors including white, and found and set aside the center piece while I was doing that. White pieces that had just small amounts of any color went in a separate tray.

Construction: I built the frame first. Next, I found the pieces that had adjacent colors on them and pieced those dividers. Then I started filling in the sections. Visually, it was easy to follow the lines of individual designs. The white map disrupted the flow and therefore added the only tricky part, but nothing that wasn’t worked out pretty quickly. At the end I was left with several white pieces and three trays of dark blue. Again, it was satisfying to find and connect the rows of design from one side of that largest section to the other. And, it was more than satisfying to have such a good time putting this puzzle together!

Final thoughts: Now for the sad news. This puzzle is not distributed in the United States. It can be found on line, but will be shipped from somewhere in Europe, shipping noticeably adds to the cost. An occasional splurge puzzle - I can’t be the only puzzler to do that! Hint: Instead of the Rainforest, go to thE Bay.

My grades: Quality A, Fun factor A++
