My Confident Puzzler Difficulty Rating: Restfully Easy

I’ve been to this amazing place. Perhaps you have as well. This brand’s collection of Mini puzzles includes several national parks, popular cities across the United States, historic landmarks and much more. There is probably something that will have meaning for you. So, capture a wonderful memory in 100 enjoyable, relaxing pieces. (See Final Thoughts)

Of course it’s challenging / rewarding to complete a large piece count puzzle, but that might take more time than is available to fit some puzzling into a busy day. Enter the 100 piece puzzle! It’s a quick fix to the benefits of the puzzling process — clearing the mind and experiencing peace and calm.

Quality: This New York Puzzle Company 100 piece puzzle, like the 1000 and 1500 piece ones from them I have completed, had loose piece fit. Not really an issue with so few pieces, and otherwise it was perfectly fine. The sturdy little box (4” x 4” x 1.5”) had the full illustration on the top, and inside, a sealed bag of pieces. There was no puzzle dust. The solid pieces were virtually matte, and perhaps somewhat larger than those in their higher piece count offerings. None were damaged or together uncut, and none were missing.

Getting started: Find the edge pieces and sort by color. I turned all the pieces right side up, pulled out the edge pieces, and sorted the map with the river, the map with sky, the background formations and the foreground formations.

Construction: I built the frame and filled in from the top down. The bottom half took more time than to top half, but it was all fun!

Final thoughts: 100 pieces — why not? It’s still puzzling, just a simpler part. There is another plus to this brand’s varied selection of Mini puzzles. Like the one above, they have a presence when complete. They range from colorful, to artful, to humorous, to geographical. Cars, sports, landmarks, famous cities, birds, dinosaurs, Harry Potter and more. Yes, there are ready made 9” x 7” frames. Why not display these little put together pieces of fun? At left is “City Flair.” (Because of the loose fit, it is necessary to tape the puzzle back, 2” painters tape work well.)
