My confident Newbie Difficulty rating: Easy to Moderate

Well, this was interesting (to me, hopefully to you). Apparently, in a moment of insanity, I decided the floral puzzle was the easier side to sort and put together. So . . .

I found the edge pieces while sorting out the 7 colors of flowers and any mostly black pieces. I was close to done, when I changed my mind. The white flowers had purple and they were everywhere, this might not be the best or most fun choice. Except for the edge pieces, I turned over all the sorts and threw them in the box top — there was no way my original sort would match sections on the other side. I built the frame.

Now what - ugh, I really did not want to sort all those pieces again. I’ve watched a lot of puzzlers on YouTube. Many of them do not sort at all. They shuffle through the box of pieces and pick out similar colors. My reply - “I could never do that, I need to sort, then sub sort the sort, then, not always but often, line the pieces up by shape.” But, this time I said, give it a shot. This was a 500 piece puzzle, a good experiment.

I admit it took some time, but actually the process flowed much better than I expected. The puzzle was done and I had fun trying something I swore I would never do. Amazing! I might even try it again, probably not with 1000 pieces, at least not for a while.

This puzzle’s quality was top notch. The small box is sturdy and attractive. Inside the pieces came in a non resealable bag; there was also a two sided poster. The puzzle pics were also printed on the inside of the top and inside of the bottom of the box. Color match to pieces was great. The pieces were sturdy and had “spot UV”. On side one the circular fan shapes are shiny. On side two the black background and white flowers are matte, the other flowers are shiny. There was no puzzle dust, no pieces together uncut, no damaged pieces and none were missing. Best of all, the piece fit was pick up off the table tight. No, I did not break it apart and piece side two. I doubt I will.

My grades: Quality A+. Fun Factor A+
