My Confident Puzzler Difficulty Level: Medium

How cute is this!! It was hard not to smile even while piecing it together. It was a bit more involved than looking at first glance, but so well worth the effort. Accomplishment and fun all rolled into one puzzling experience. I can highly recommend this brand. It started as a small venture with one artist - the owner. It has grown to include several artists, and a large collection of varied designs. They all are bright, colorful, and high quality.

Quality: Excellent! The sturdy, if large, box had the full illustration on the top. Inside was a sealable, reusable bag of pieces. No poster was included, but color match to the cover picture was perfect. There was no puzzle dust. The solid pieces do have some sheen. No pieces were damaged, none were together uncut, and none were missing. There were no false fits, and piece fit was pick up large sections all the way to pick up completed, off the table tight.

Getting started: Find the edge pieces and sort by color. Pink. yellow, dark blue, sky blue, sun gold, green and white were a good start, but of course I had to sort out more. That included the bird house, the flowers and flower pot, the sneaker and mouse, the fishbowl, the large flowers, the butterfly, at the other leaves and tall grasses, and each kitty’s facial features.

Construction: I built the frame and filled in the sun. Then I pieced together the aforementioned items, many of them attached to the frame. I thought about filling in the sky, but decided to build the cats first. To finish, all I had left were trays of blue pieces, a few to fill in the Kitty’s tummy, and the rest were sky (something I often try to do first!). For this puzzle, I really like the order I chose.

Final thoughts: Does anyone wonder if my super sorting is cheating? I don’t think it is. It is my nature, for everything I do, to have all my ducks in a row, so to speak. So, I guess it is no different for completing a puzzle. Yes, sorting takes time and it is assuredly not my favorite part. But it makes construction show satisfying progress. That does not mean the whole thing is done any faster, but for me it often means the fun factor overrides the frustration quotient. I do not think my way is better, everyone has their own style. Thank goodness puzzling is an individual and personal hobby with an immeasurable pleasure factor, however that is achieved!

My grades: Quality A+, Fun Factor A+
