Yay! I just finished this awesome puzzle a little bit ago. I know that this one is fairly hard to find right now, but if you want it badly enough, I would suggest that you keep searching for it because it is worth it! I ordered it from a store that I have ordered from in the past, but my order was eventually canceled because they ran out of their stock before they could fill my order. I wanted to have this puzzle for an event for a different group that I am in, so I searched high and low for a copy. I finally found one at a company in Canada, so I gladly paid more for shipping than I did for the puzzle.

Now, I love to plan my puzzle strategy and this puzzle had me pretty excited about three gorgeous features: the pink dress, the window & door, and the blue dress. When I poured my pieces out of the box, I began by sorting out pieces for those three design elements. And then I set those pieces aside, saving them for very last! Instead, I started with the darker corner behind the blue dress and then worked my way down the right side, then along the bottom and middle over to the left, and then up the left side until everything was done except for my three favorite sections patiently waiting for me. I quickly did the pink dress, then played with the door and window, before moving on to the stunning blue dress.

I wish that I could say that my puzzling process went off without a hitch, but I started my puzzle on my puzzle board on top of a TV tray in the bedroom before starting making supper. I wanted to take my first progress photo before stopping to feed my family, but I wasn’t happy with the large shadow caused from my iPad blocking out the overhead light. I decided to change the angle of my board, and I guess that I moved it too far off the center of my small table. Yup. You guessed it. I was grabbing my iPad when my puzzle board obeyed the laws of gravity, falling gracefully to the floor, dumping my puzzle in a big heap. *sigh* Fortunately, I could save part of my work in progress, but it did take me about an hour to restore my progress. I didn’t let that mishap diminish my joy in assembling this puzzle, though. The large shadow still remains in my photo to remind me to be more careful in the future. I did not finish my puzzle last night, but was happy to finish the window & door and blue dress today during the daylight.

This puzzle had all of the hallmarks of a quality Ravensburger puzzle. Little puzzle dust, thick grid cut pieces, a satisfying fit that allows only one piece to fit in its correct spot, and a gorgeous matte linen finish. This puzzle was well worth the extra time and money needed to buy it, and it was worth the extra time and effort to put together after having to almost start over. I would give this puzzle my highest recommendation: it is designated a keeper and I will hopefully put it together again.

Puzzle details: Ravensburger, “Seamstress Shop” by Eduard, 1000 pieces, 2019. A modified design is sold by Gibson, as “The Dressmaker’s Daughter”. That version features a woman sitting at the sewing machine and her daughter looking in the mirror. I will include a photo of that version at the very end.
