My Confident Puzzler Difficulty Rating: Low Moderate

This puzzle is somewhat more time consuming than it looks, but I think it is stunningly gorgeous in its visual simplicity. Even more than that, this puzzle was perfect in every possible way!

Quality: Super fantastic! Piece fit was pick up off the table tight. There were no false fits. The somewhat large, sturdy box contained only a sealed bag of pieces, no poster. The entire illustration was on the box top. Color match to pieces was great. There was almost no puzzle dust. The comparatively thick, solid pieces had a totally matte finish. No pieces were damaged, none were together uncut, and none were missing. I have to add this because it was so satisfying — correct pieces practically put themselves in place. Awesome!

Getting started: Find the edge pieces and sort by color. Pretty simple for this one — four skies, four trees. The pieces that made the line going across the center were very distinct, so I sorted those separately.

Construction: I built the frame first, put in the center dividing line, and then built each quarter completely before moving on to the next. Filling in each tree foliage was the trickiest part. For a 500 piece puzzle, in total it took more time than expected. But all of it was fun, even the dark green tree. I so enjoyed seeing it come together, watching pieces fall perfectly into place, and appreciating the art when it was complete.

Final thoughts: This was the first Schmidt Spiele puzzle I have done. I can only hope the level of quality I experienced is consistent throughout the brand. They have an extensive and varied selection. The brand is definitely worth checking out.
