This is one of the most beautiful horse images I have ever seen. I was recently contacted by the owner of this stallion. Her first name is Tracy and she seen my review below. She contacted me to see if I would like to see the original image that the photographer, Bob Langrish, had used to create the puzzle image. Her stallion's name was Cavu Paragon and you can see how beautiful the original image looks. Special thanks to Tracy for enhancing my review by being kind enough to share her photo. The extra large pieces on the Forest Enchantment puzzle is one of the main reasons I bought this .50 cent item from the Thrift Store.
The other main reason I bought it is because it is a beautiful image of a horse which is a favourite of mine. The 3rd reason I bought it is because it was 300 pieces.
I know an image like this can be extremely tricky to assemble due to the colour blends.

I did my usual sorting routine.

The border was a little tricky since some of the pieces were the same color and blurry. I started with the whites and greys to use as much of those as possible. Then I defined the difference between the horse pieces and the brown tree/leaves. That was the easiest part. The horse went together the easiest and fastest. I worked as much bright orange/Fall colors as possible and was left with the dark browns and blurry areas along the bottom. |
The photographer, Bob Langrish lives in the UK and has a pretty impressive career. The following is quotes from his website: CLICK HERE
"Equestrian photographer Bob Langrish has accumulated 400,000 images over the last 37 years, illustrating every aspect of the horse and its world. Bob's horse photos frequently appear in calendars, books, magazines, greetings cards, stationery, puzzles, posters, diaries and other publications all over the world. His photography covers all major sporting events such as the Olympics, Aachen, Badminton, Burghley, Calgary, Euro Championships, Gatcombe, Hickstead, West Palm Beach and the World Equestrian Games."
The company, Lafayette Puzzle Factory, produces a series of Enchanted Horses with 6 in total. Unlike the larger number of pieces-puzzles produced by this company (the pieces are much thinner and flimsy) the pieces are totally acceptable for use with children and/or Seniors, which I would say this Forest Enchantment puzzle is more for Seniors. I have assembled many horse jigsaw puzzles and one of my favourites is the Horse Show |
