Song Birds Puzzle

The Song Birds puzzle is every bit delightful as it looks. The colours are rich and deep. 

The Artist Henry Petersen has managed to capture Nature at her best.

Some of the dark colours were a tad tricky but not enough to spoil the fun.

Song Birds Puzzle Assembly

I did my usual sorting routine.

  1. Sorting to locate all  the outside border pieces, while....
  2. Placing the pieces into the 'general-color' piles. 
  3. Then I carried on with a second round of sorting (similar colors sorted by shades/patterns) while placing the pieces flat out on the poster boards.

I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to start the Song Birds puzzle so the colour-process-of-elimination turned out to be the plan. Butterflies were the least of colors, the pink flowers, the fence-posts, the white flowers, the Bluebirds, the bright yellow and then the inside of the Sunflowers all in that order.

These images share the good quality of The Jigsaw Puzzle Factory image titled Song Birds. You can see how well the pieces are cut and the shapes of the cuts. I think that is what made the puzzle move along at a good pace. It's been a while since I did a puzzle with limited cut pieces and forgot how it adds the extra fun to it - I enjoy puzzles where the pieces are quick to find.

This puzzle is 550 pieces but 18" x 24" so the pieces are medium/large making it perfect for Seniors...take a look to see these images of the Song Birds puzzle in the larger size so you get a better view.
