The Cafe Des Paris Puzzle is by Artist, David Maclean. I must say, he sure pays attention to the fine details which really enhances the image. I do love the cats and dog that seem quite relaxed in the scene. You may like this lovely puzzle. |

I did not do my usual sorting routine as this is 500 pieces. The red/pinks, greens and beiges should be easy to pick out. However, since there were minimal shapes to this puzzle, I decided that it could be helpful if I sorted according to the shapes of the pieces. These puzzles come with a very nice quality poster as you can see in the image to the right and shown with the border image completed below. |

When it came to the border, I lined up the pieces as best I could with the colours as shown on the image. The border look longer than usual but the shapes of the pieces really helped in this case. |
After I assembled the work-in-progress pieces in the above image from there, I continued to build on the red building, the windows in the background and the bicycles. |
I usually start with the most prominent colours or large sections on an image so the best place to start was with the red stripes, the Cafe letters and small sections of blue colours. |
The following images show close ups of the style of the cut. The cut was not loose and fit quite nicely. I do like this cut as I am getting use to it. The image is delightful and peaceful with just the cats and dog lounging around. The bicycles indicate people are busy somewhere and if they were in the image, it would like take away from the quaint visual view of the street. Nicely captured indeed!

The Cafe Des Paris Puzzle is a lovely scene by artist David Maclean. It did not take as long as the Winters Beauty puzzle.
There is a non-glare matte finish is on the Cobble Hill puzzles. They feel so nice when my hands do the 'once-over' upon completion of the puzzles. Even though the cut is different from previous 500 piece puzzles, nothing else has changed in the quality.
