This Matilda puzzle is such a fun quick fix experienced puzzlers and a joy for those who are not. The cat innuendos in the background are really cute, like the 9 lives reference, the note to remember cat food, the colouring picture of the cat. The recipes happen to be about cheese and fish. The only thing missing would be a mouse, perhaps peeking from inside the drawer. An interesting detail is the 3 stamps on the bulletin board. I recall tacking my stamps on a board too.

I did my usual sorting routine for this 500 pieces then merely laid out the pieces on the foam board. Some how I managed to forget to get photos of that. Then I used the handy Poster to assemble the pieces.
The border went together fairly easy on the Matilda puzzle and then I started in the upper left corner, worked my way across the flowers over to the cookbook, then down across the brown table, then purposely leaving a gaping hole for Matilda. I saved her for last as you can see in the photo below.
Below are some very pretty closeup images clearly sharing the shapes of the cut and the quality of the fine matt finish on these puzzles. The Poster images are very nice quality too.
The Matilda puzzle from Cobble Hill Puzzle Company is 19.25" x 26.625″ therefore the 500 pieces are in very large format. Makes for good handling with odd shaped pieces for those with tender sensitive hands.
The Artist, Geoffrey Tristram, who resides in the UK, is quite famous for his artwork, comedy writing and has very cute and fun cartoon artwork. Certainly a man of many talents.
A big shout out goes to Grateful House for supplying the Black felt mat used in this review.
