The Home Sweet Home puzzle looks quite busy as a puzzle image because there is lots to see.
The border has tiny text running along it with reference to many Home Sweet Home messages. This assists with assembling the border because sometimes solid borders can be tricky. Also, this puzzle is 500 pieces so it makes the challenge totally doable! Amazon Link

I did not do my usual sorting routine as this is 500 pieces and there is so much colour besides the border that there are no defined areas or colours. However, since there were minimal shapes to this puzzle, I decided that it could be helpful if I sorted according to the shapes of the pieces. These puzzles come with a very nice quality poster as you can see in the image to the right and shown with the border image completed below. |
When it came to the border this time, I lined up the pieces as shown on the right. It was quite helpful to have the 500 pieces were large enough to show past the tiny text plus colour areas so it made it easier to line them up and get them assembled accordingly. |
From there, I wrestled to get this one to 'take off' so to speak and I picked away at putting one-two pieces together building clusters. I continued to build in that manner until I started seeing smaller sections of buildings and houses that I could actually see. |
I usually start with the most prominent colours or large sections on an image but the only section for that was at the bottom where the Home Sweet Home text is, so I started there. |
The following images share very close up of the style of the cut. It's been quite some time since I did a Cobble Hill 500 piece puzzle but the pieces were random cut - this style of cut is different from the others. The cut was not loose and fit quite nicely. I do like this cut as it was quite helpful in this case due to so many different pattern.
The matte finish is on the Cobble Hill puzzles. are non glare images and they feel so nice when my hands do the 'once-over' upon completion of the puzzles. Even though the cut is different, nothing else has changed in the quality.
I have done a few 'quilt' type puzzle images. I really enjoyed the Quilt Blocks puzzle being 2000 pieces.
