JaCaRou Puzzles maintained a very high quality even for these mini puzzles. I was nervous to think this one might give me trouble but I was really impressed with how quickly the pieces fell into place. I really like the colours chosen for this image. |

I did not do my usual sorting routine in this case as you can see all 150 pieces fit nicely on my little workplace board. I did sort the edges from the others though. You can see at the bottom in the image to the right I have added a 'standard' puzzle piece so you can compare the size of the pieces on these mini puzzles. | |
The workspace I used was a piece of foam board cut to 17" x 20" and I used 2-sided foam insulation as a border...certainly would not want to loose any of these tiny pieces. I contemplated using tweezers but thought I would attempt the assembly without that tool for starters. Turns out I did not need them at all. I gently pulled the label-image off the tube so I could see the puzzle image better. I would suggest the image could be put into the inside of the Puzzle Tube so it could easily be pulled out and used for reference. |
I saved the tape from the label and replaced the image/paper back onto the tube once I finished the puzzle. I know I am going to keep this puzzle so I am ok if the label is not 100% perfect back on the tube. |
Doing the border would be the first test to see how well this mini puzzle would be. I must admit, the cut sure is crisp and accurate. That meant that the deepness of the pieces fit really well into each other. The feel for putting the pieces into place was very much like putting a wood puzzle together. The piece fall into place from above rather than slide into from the sides. So I put the greys, reds and flowers into place first then the rest easily found their way into position for the border. |
Then I continued the grey area pieces, the solid red area pieces, the whitish area pieces and the multi-green areas. The Rooster was next and finally the different sunflowers. It sure went together surprisingly well!!!! Much easier than I anticipated.
The following are some of the close up images displaying the quality cut of the pieces, the creative artistry and the style of the ribbon/grid type cut. Also you can see the total 4" x 6" size of the puzzle and puzzle tube by using a basic pen.
JaCaRou Puzzles maintained a very high quality even for these mini puzzles. I was nervous to think this one might give me trouble but I was really impressed with how quickly the pieces fell into place. I did this puzzle rather quickly, in about 45 minutes total and I really did enjoy it as a little quick fix. This would be a perfect travel puzzle, especially in a hotel where little space is usually the case.
Then the bonus that comes with these little mini jigsaw puzzles is the postcard on the back of the puzzle sent personally from the Artist Anie Maltais of JaCaRou Jigsaw Puzzles with her thank you message - extremely nice personal touch there :)
