Tiki Time Puzzle

The Tiki Time puzzle by Artist, Linda Tillman is a variated collage type image that sure looks terrific when assembled. I had never heard of Tiki Time so I searched it on the internet. So Wikipedia explains it like this,

"Tiki culture is a motif of exotically decorated bars and restaurants catering to an escapist longing for travel to tropical regions of the South Pacific.  You may like this image by the same Artist Linda Tillman: Amazon Link

Tiki culture changed over time, influenced by World War II and the firsthand exposure hundreds of thousands of American servicemen gained during that conflict."

Now the term Tiki Time has found its way into big marketing such as Tiki Time drinks, tourisms and stores.

Frankly I thought the Tiki Time puzzle sign would be much easier than it turned out to be but I enjoyed the challenge. I can easily highly recommend this great quality puzzle.

Tiki Time Puzzle Assembly

I did my usual sorting routine.

  1. Sorting to locate all  the outside border pieces, while....
  2. Placing the pieces into the 'general-color' layout onto the Grateful House puzzle trays. These trays are 14" x 10" in a pack of 8. I can layout all the pieces easily IF I use the lid for the edge pieces. This example is using the Cobble Hill Brand puzzle at 1000 pieces and puzzle Size is 26.625" x 19.25".

The border was not difficult at all even with the tan colour all the way around the edges as sometimes that situation can be testy, especially in black or white.

Frankly I thought the Tiki Time puzzle sign would be much easier than it turned out to be but I enjoyed the challenge. That said, most of the rest of the images came together as being built in clumps on the side then adding the tan color border throughout the image. Once the clumps were placed strategically onto the board roughly where they belonged, the pieces began to fall into place very easily.
