All I can say about this MC Escher shapes jigsaw puzzle is talent and creativity. While I do not find the actual images overly attractive, I am impressed that they are created to intertwine so closely together as a 'modified-style' jigsaw puzzle? I have to wonder if the Artist new at the time of his work that it would eventually be represented to a 'jigsaw' puzzle per say. It's typical of Escher to use the black-white tones but taking a close look at these strange and extremely unique critters is quite fascinating. Almost reptile-like, yet there are fish and even a human-like body.

There is no need to sort this one..... There was not much to assembling this one due to the shapes..... What was strange was how the pieces were formed against each other. This is a puzzle but not like a jigsaw puzzle. |
Here are the 40 pieces. As you look at the completed image note how the 40 different pieces seem to appear. A good way to really note it is by trying to find all 40 pieces - that way you will see how the individual pieces are intertwined with one another.
It's one thing to do this as a puzzle however I cannot even imagine how the Artist, M. C. Escher managed to paint such a unique piece of artwork. The individual images are somewhat ghoulish and reptile like - and what do you suppose the guitar is thrown into the mix for????
Here is the back of the box which shares more information on the Artist: M.C. Escher and about the 'iproject'. I am somewhat of a fan of his artwork but not so much of this MC Escher Shapes jigsaw puzzle. Regardless I have still added this to my collection. |
I have the following four M.C. Escher jigsaw puzzles in my collection plus I have this 3000 pieces Metamorphose at 8.5" x 159" wide which I assembled years ago and it's still in my collection.
