Peanuts Christmas Puzzle

So love this Peanuts Christmas puzzle however it did have it's tricky areas like the snow and the dark sky with stars. I have heard the same comments from other Puzzlers who assembled it as well.

Peanuts Christmas Puzzle Assembly

I did my usual sorting routine.

  1. Sorting to locate all  the outside border pieces, while....
  2. Placing the pieces into the 'general-color' piles.
  3. Then I carried on with a second round of sorting (similar colors sorted by shades/patterns) while placing the pieces flat out on the poster boards.

For some reason I do not have a photo of the pieces in piles however I do know I was pretty excited to get going on this one.

To assist assembling this puzzle border I laid out all the flat edge pieces according to the shapes.

There is a lot of dark/white color along the border so it was a matter of matching the shapes into position by testing one by one - I find it assembles much faster that way.

Below is the finished border and you can easily see the solid dark and solid light-white edges.

I tried to do the Christmas Tree first. Then I worked the colored hair on the characters. Once I completed their hair and bodies and Snoopy, I assembled all the faces. So when the tree, characters and Snoopy were done it left only the stars in the sky and the snow on the bottom of the image. I knew they would be testy due to the grid-cut. Once again I laid out all the pieces according to shape and the size of the tips on the pieces. It took me longer to do the sky and snow than the rest of the puzzle.

The Peanuts Christmas puzzle by Galison comes with a poster and on the back of the puzzle is the history story of how the Peanuts Christmas Special came to be produced which is quite interesting so I hope you read it.

Peanuts Christmas Puzzle Comments...

Of course the world is familiar with the famous Charles Schultz American Cartoonist and his Peanuts characters, Charlie Brown and Snoopy. I have always loved everything about them so I am thrilled to finally own this one for my wall.

The finish is very nice on these Galison jigsaw puzzles and the piece quality has a nice feel and is very good. It comes with a poster, the pieces are bagged in thicker plastic than most puzzle bags and the box is solid, plus pretty. I also had the pleasure of assembling the Galison Bouquet which is a shaped puzzle and another one of my most favourite puzzles!

I purchased this puzzle at Galison's Puzzles and it appears to be out of stock again. I got great timing to actually get this one.  I can easily highly recommend it! Take a look at the super fun close up images below.
