Sadly two pieces are missing on this 'Everything's Up To Date At The North Pole puzzle. And, as you can see, it's quite busy as would be expected at the North Pole ;) You may like this similar family Springbok puzzle. |

I did not do my usual sorting routine as this puzzle cut is known as the Family size pieces. That means the pieces are cut from quite large 'child-like' pieces to the smaller adult cut pieces. So the first half of the puzzle (especially the Santa portion) is extra large pieces for the children to assemble. That said, I did attempt to gain some kind of border and that was not to be completed until about 2/3's of the completion as shown on the image below to the right. Also you can see (left side below) the size of the image is 20.5 inches wide which is bigger than the standard foam boards so it hung slightly over the edge which was ok because these Springboks fit together super tight so it was not really an issue. |
I started at the bottom and assembled all the large pieces first which went extremely fast and well....then I got slower around the middle.....then I got really slower the further to the top I moved. I expect there may have been a poster with this puzzle at one time which most often seems to escape the puzzle box when passing them along.
It seems like there were a b-zillion Elves there and the tiny images were a challenge to define on the upper half of the puzzle but I expect the poster would have assisted with that to make it a better experience.
The first 3 images share the larger items in the puzzle and are VERY close up. The 2 images below share the 'tense' and 'busy' area of the puzzle which was difficult to define using the box picture. | |
This Springbok, Everything's Up To Date At The North Pole puzzle by John Overmyer was purchased at the local Thrift store. Most often all the pieces are included however there was 2 escapees from this one....sadly of course. That said, it will have to be passed on for free.....
I also had the pleasure of assembling the Springbok White Christmas puzzle which was tricky but so gorgeous when completed.
