This White Christmas Puzzle is the type that the image does not appear easily in the pieces as it does when the pieces fit in place. It could be due to the paint-brush strokes. It was tricky but gorgeous when completed - well worth the extra efforts. |

I did my usual sorting routine.
| |
As you can see in the sorting, there are not many defined colors to be seen clearly. This type of artwork is quite visible with brush strokes on the close up view and much clearer when seen from a distance.
Some of the warm lights in the houses and church blend with some areas of the pinkish sky and reflections in the snow at the the bottom.
I did not refer much to the image itself but relied more heavily on the shapes of the pieces. That said, this was a case of the image magically appearing as more pieces found their places.
I started with the snowman, fences, lights in buildings, street lights, the buildings and church steeple. The frames of the buildings were tricky, the steps and street snow was tricky, the green trees with lights were tricky and the sky was tricky. Normally a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle would not take 12 hours. |
Note the close up photo to the right how visible the brush strokes are yet the image just below shows how clearly the buildings, vehicle and street lights can be seen. |
Robert Finale is the Artist of this delightful and enchanting image. He shares his lifelong work as an artist around the world and is certainly worth taking a look at.
Shipping has it's drawbacks too. I am not exactly sure how the puzzle got 'injured' inside the box as the outside of the shipping box does not appear to be damaged at all. The Springbok jigsaw puzzle box lids are quite sturdy so quite a jab would have to imply a dent like that.
It's Christmas in July with the Springbok's White Christmas puzzle. They recently sent it to me for review. It's quite helpful to have the random-shape pieces cut for artwork such as this because it makes the jigsaw puzzle experience enjoyable.
I am very pleased to add this one to my completed collection and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy just a little extra challenge - but not too much!
I also had the pleasure of assembling the Springbok Christmas Keepsake which I found at the Thrift Store for .50 cents. It's a beauty and no missing pieces either.
